A new beginning

I've started a few blogs in the past, mostly to document travels and unique situations, but I feel like it's finally time to have a blog just to document what goes on in my daily life. There isn't much that's interesting at this point (as can be expected in the life of a frustrated teacher working as a library assistant - basically a glorified customer service job), but I'm hopeful that 2008 will bring new adventures and, finally, a sense of accomplishment and peace. I hope that's not too much to expect!

Anyway, this is a new year and a new beginning, and the first year I've started with a real sense of determination and purpose. I'm determined that I'll make myself a priority this year - the only goal I have is to make myself happy and to live my life without regrets. I'll stop thinking about what's responsible and good for my future, and do what makes me happy and what sounds interesting. I'll be more spontaneous and reckless (or as reckless as I can be), and I'll make new dreams and actually pursue them. This year has promise :). Carpe diem, as they say!
