A lovely Saturday in London...

It was another one of those Saturdays here in London that just make me happy to be here :). Didn't really do much - met a couple of friends for lunch and had a brilliant time just laughing and joking. Enjoyed the sunshine as we strolled down to Trafalgar Square after having some tea, and stood in Trafalgar Square watching the Olympics coverage again for a little while. Then headed back up Charing Cross Road, and cut through Leicester Square towards Soho, where a friend and I took in "Jersey Boys" again.

I can't say enough times how much I love this musical. The story is wonderful, the songs make you want to dance (I usually content myself with bobbing along in my seat) and get stuck in your head for ages afterwards, and the cast is absolutely amazing. My favourite cast member is Stephen Ashfield, who is a wonderful actor and singer, and has such an endearing charm onstage - I'll admit I've developed a bit of a crush on him. lol.

Anyway, turns out he's just as charming offstage too! Shoko, the friend I went to the show with, had bought a programme and wanted to get it signed afterwards, so we went to wait at the stage door for the actors to come out. We were both enormously embarrassed to be there, but still managed to stand our ground after agreeing that we would never do it again! lol. Stephen was the very last of the cast members to come out (I think he had some friends in the audience and had taken some time to give them a tour or something) and was instantly loveable :). He stepped out the door with a huge grin and a cheerful, "Well, hello!" and then looked around confusedly, asking us if Ryan had already left (Ryan plays the lead role in the show). He was more than happy to sign autographs and take photos, continuing to chat in his lovely Scottish lilt the entire time. I thought it was nice of him to take the time to chat and be nice to those of us who were waiting, even though he must have been dying to get home after a 2 show day. He really was just lovely in every way possible.

As you can tell, we were thoroughly charmed by Stephen! :) lol. As if I needed any more reasons to visit the show again...
