It's only been a couple of weeks since I posted an update here and already there have been some big changes :).
First of all, I've found a new place to live! Yay! I'm so pleased, not least because it's actually a new place to live, but also because it's finally settled. I'll have my own room, my own gigantic wardrobe, my own space, I'll finally be able to unpack my clothes AND I won't have to think about finding a new place to live for at least 6 months! I think I'll be very happy there. It's in Hammersmith (West London), which is very well-connected, and I move on the 24th of January. I'll post photos of my room once I've moved!
Other than that, I've been incredibly busy these past couple of weeks. I've worked every day and then, when I've finished work, I've been going to concerts or services. Every single one of them has been absolutely lovely, however, so I don't regret it at all. I went to a carol concert sung by Temple Church's choir in the Royal Courts of Justice, a Westminster Cathedral chorister recital (which was absolutely amazing - they may not be my favourite choir, but it's only because their perfection puts me off a bit!), a Christmas concert at St Paul's, and a concert of Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols, also at St Paul's. It all really put me into a festive mood :). Add to that regular services at either St Paul's or Westminster Cathedral whenever their music list entices me and, well, it makes for a very busy life. lol.
I've also met some very random people since my last update, mostly at St Paul's. My stalker, who I mentioned earlier in this blog, is still at large - every time I see him, he invades my personal space just a bit more. Last Sunday, he gave me a kiss on my forehead, which was utterly creepy and disturbing. Will have to freeze him out now in the hopes he'll leave me alone! I also met a lovely farmer from South Cumbria one day, who was such a sweet old man. He was so talkative and, by the time we parted, I knew all about his daughters, his farm, and even his faith. Lastly, whilst queuing for a service one day, I got talking to the guy standing in front of me, who turned out to be a Belgian university student studying Chinese. I then met his French and English flatmates, and his German friend, all of whom joined the queue as their classes finished and they were able to get there. They were all really nice and I've exchanged mobile numbers with the Belgian, so I think I'll be seeing him again :).
Next up is Christmas itself, of course! :) I'm really looking forward to it, though it's snuck up on me this year. I'm not even done my Christmas shopping, which is a bit worrying, actually. Then I'll be home for New Year's and I'll have a brand new slate for adventures!
In the meantime, I'm going to go out and try to capture in pictures what Christmas feels like in London for all of you who haven't experienced it. Stay tuned!
