Good day or bad day?

So, tell me if this should be considered a good day or a bad day...

BAD
1) I wake up at 6am to leave the flat at 7am. I'm working at a school in East London this week, which I worked at last Thursday. Last Thursday, leaving the flat at 7am meant I arrived at the school at 8:15 (for a 9:00 start of day). Today, I arrived at 9:00am. Yes, that means I spent 2 hours on the Tube. Why? Well, first of all, there was signal failure at South Kensington, which meant that all the trains were experiencing severe delays. As a result, we continuously spent valuable time sitting in tunnels waiting for platforms to become available at forthcoming stations. Second, a person fell unconscious at St James' Station and, instead of doing the sensible (although somewhat callous) thing and carrying the person off the train to wait for an ambulance on the platform, our train sat there until an ambulance could arrive. Which took ages. Of course. The long and short of it is that I ran into class at 9am, just as another teacher had started taking register. Thank goodness I had managed to call ahead to tell them I was running late because of the Tube! Still, it can't have left a good impression under the circumstances (which I'll explain in a second!).

GOOD
2) The school I'm teaching at is apparently looking for a longer term PPA teacher and, if I do well this week, I think I'm pretty much it! :) That's why being late this morning was soooo terrible. Hopefully I can make up for it by being super early the rest of the week.

BAD
3) My class today, though sweet and lovely last Thursday, was a bit out of control. I had to give them the disappointed look (you know the one all teachers seem to have) and a bit of a lecture at the end of the day. I don't blame them - all kids go a bit crazy when a supply's in, and these kids are far from malicious. Still, it's given me a sore throat and a headache.

GOOD
4) I found out today that the class field trip I was told I wasn't allowed to go on last week is actually one I DO get to go on!

BAD
5) That means dragging 60 kids on the Tube to a theatre to watch something they probably don't want to watch in the first place. And it meant I had to stay late after school to attend a trip meeting with the other staff.

GOOD
6) I managed to send off my application to Winchester after school before heading off for Evensong.

BAD
7) I waited 15 minutes in the queue at the post office, only to be told when I got to the window that I had sufficient postage on the damn envelope anyway.

GOOD
8) I managed to make it to Evensong in time to sit in the Quire AND it felt like every single kid in the entire choir (apart from the Year 8s) had a solo :). This was especially interesting because I hadn't heard any of them individually before.

BAD
9) I missed a call from my agency because I was in service.

GOOD
10) When I called them back, I found out they had called to find out my availability for Friday and after half term, AND to ask if I might be interested in teaching at a high school in Harrow for 2 weeks following half term, with the possibility of that turning into a longer term job.

BAD
11) When I got home, my flatmate and I discovered that the roof is leaking (there's a bucket under the dripping ceiling in the corridor now).

GOOD
12) The forecasted heavy snow never materialised today, which meant that I was able to go to work and make some money.

BAD
12) The forecasted heavy snow never materialised today, which meant that I was able to go to work :).

BAD
12) In lieu of snow, it's been pouring rain all day and shows no sign of letting up.

I guess it should be considered a bad day, since there's one more bad thing than good? I dunno - I'm undecided :). lol.

What a bizarre day!!!
