Life as a full-time teacher

Well, I've just gotten through my first week of work and it's definitely had its ups and downs. There have been times when I've just wanted to tear my hair out, and other times when I've been really content with how things are going and touched by how the kids are acting. I've got 240 pupils (approx), and I think about 90% of those kids like me :). I'll have to work on the other 10% so they don't end up making my life a total hell! lol. All in all though, it's better than daily supply and I've had some good days teaching. It's good practice, at the very least!

I'm too tired to write much detail about what's been going on, but here's a little card one of my kids made me when she had finished her work and I allowed her to spend the rest of the time drawing.

(To explain what red base is, let me tell you how the school works. The school is set up so there are 3 wings: Early Years/ KS1 [Nursery-Year 2], KS2A [Years 3-4], and KS2B [Years 5-6]. Within each wing there are 4 classes, and each class is called a different colour base. Thus, blue base, yellow base, green base, and red base...)
